Airbnb Message Templates: 9 Copy-and-Paste Guest Messages From Booking to 5-Star Review

Most bad reviews are not about the home. They're about a moment a guest felt ignored, confused, or surprised โ€” and nobody messaged them first. The fix is boring and powerful: the right message, at the right moment, already written.

Here are 9 of the templates from our Guest Message Script Pack. Replace the [brackets] and save them into Airbnb's saved messages today.

1. Booking confirmation (send immediately)

"[Name], you're booked! ๐ŸŽ‰ Thanks for choosing [Property] for [dates]. I'll send check-in details the day before you arrive. Any questions at all, just ask!" Why it works: instant warmth + sets the expectation that more info is coming, so they don't chase you.

2. The day-before info pack

Address, door code, parking in one line, and a link to your welcome book. One message with everything beats five messages across the week.

3. Arrival-night check-in (the golden message)

"Hi [Name], just checking you've settled in okay and found everything? If anything isn't perfect, tell me now and I'll fix it fast." This single message defuses more complaints than any other โ€” it opens a private channel BEFORE frustrations become reviews.

4. The Wi-Fi answer (never just send the password)

Add the local tip: "It's also on page 1 of the welcome book โ€” along with our favourite taco place two streets away, which I highly recommend for tonight." You look like a host, not a help desk.

5. Mid-stay check (day 2)

"How was the first night โ€” bed comfortable, everything working?" Short, optional-feeling, and it catches small issues while they're still small.

6. The complaint rescue

Apologise specifically, state the fix and the time, and add a concrete gesture (cleaning-fee refund, a small treat). Never argue facts with a guest mid-stay.

7. Check-out reminder (keep it to 3 asks)

Dishwasher on, towels in the tub, doors locked + a "we're out" message. "No stripping beds, no stress." Guests consistently thank hosts for SHORT check-out lists.

8. Thank-you (same day)

"[Name], thank you for being wonderful guests โ€” the home was left in great shape." Sent before the review request, always. Gratitude first, ask second.

9. The 5-star review request (send 2-4 hours after check-out)

"If you have 60 seconds, a review would mean the world to us. A quick Airbnb secret most guests don't know: 5 stars means 'as described' โ€” anything less counts as a penalty for small hosts, even for a great stay. If we earned it, we'd be so grateful. And if anything fell short, my inbox is always open first." Why it works: most guests genuinely don't know 4 stars hurts you. Telling them โ€” honestly, without pressure โ€” converts happy guests into 5-star reviewers.
